About the Role
The City Works department is responsible for the effective and sustainable management of the City’s built environment including the construction, upkeep and renewal of all civil infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Competently supervise and manage the full project life cycle of assigned civil construction projects, ranging in size and complexity, from start up to close out.
  • Be an effective and empowering people leader and coach to field-based crews.
  • Evaluate and monitor output performance with a commercial focus.
  • Deliver exceptional stakeholder management to mitigate potential risks and demonstrate project value-add to the community and vested parties.
  • Prepare tender and contract documentation including drawings, specifications, budgets and other items specific to individual projects.
  • Provide specialist advice to stakeholders, both internal and external, on complex and political issues related to the assigned projects

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or similar.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of civil engineering construction practices.
  • Significant experience in civil construction project delivery within a local government setting (or similar).
  • Exceptional people management skills with demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams to deliver results.
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with a range of stakeholders (both external and internal) to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Covid19 vaccinations required for this role.
