About the Role
In this role you will be working as part of the Parks & Gardens team and will be responsible for leading a small team of experience arborists. You will be performing general maintenance of street and park trees, including occasional removal. You will also be required to perform emergency storm works where required and liaise with the general public, contractors and internal departments across council.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the daily duties of a tree maintenance team to provide a professional and customer focused service.
  • Assess trees to identify defects and perform remedial works where required.
  • Undertake tree maintenance activities including tree pruning, tree removals and root pruning
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment including trucks, chippers, travel towers, and general arboricultural equipment

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have strong technical experience as an Arborist and experience leading and managing a team. You will also require the confidence to engage with the general public to answer queries, negotiate and problem solve and have a continuous improvement mindset. A Certificate III in Arboriculture is also required.
