About the Opportunity:

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions for Application Evaluation, the Senior Assistant Director of Admission for Application Evaluation will lead key elements of the application evaluation and enrollment processes for first year and transfer students and will provide direct support to the enrollment efforts for Early Decision students. The incumbent will collaborate with Associate Director for Application Evaluation and Associate Director for Operations to ensure efforts for application evaluation and quality control are being coordinated effectively.

The Senior Assistant Director will coordinate and supervise temporary reading staff and support the first-year and transfer application review processes including hiring, training, making daily reading assignments, and monitoring reading queries. This position will work closely with Admissions Operations and Processing to coordinate final review of application files and final grades before student enrollment and contribute to quality control efforts as needed

The incumbent will coordinate with campus partners and academic colleges to support key enrollment initiatives and will work closely with Student Financial Services to support the enrollment of Early Decision I/II admitted students. This position will also work closely with the Senior Associate Director and Associate Director to contribute to conversations around selection strategy and execution.

As a territory manager, traditional responsibilities include: travel to attract and subsequently enroll students; develop and implement targeted programming efforts and activities; manage a territory throughout the admission cycle; evaluate freshman and transfer applicants for admission; counsel and advise students and families regarding the admission process; conduct interviews and presentations; and establish, develop and maintain relationships with guidance counselors and transfer advisors while marketing the University effectively.

The Senior Assistant Director will conduct the role with the highest degree of professionalism, ensuring that the Northeastern brand and image are accurately conveyed.



Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred, with 3-6 years of relevant experience required. Strong presentation, process management, detail orientation, organizational skills, analysis, data interpretation, interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand the big picture required. The ability to apply discretion and independent judgment is critical. Knowledge of higher education issues related to the recruitment, admission and enrollment of students required. Demonstrated leadership and customer service skills. Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record, and the ability to lift 30 pounds in order to move recruitment materials. A successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across units and is sensitive and responsive to the needs of diverse constituencies is required.
