About the Opportunity:

 Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Partner will play a critical role in the development and delivery of strategic sourcing and recruitment capability with the aim of attracting top talent to Northeastern University.      The Talent Acquisition Partner will work with faculty and staff from their assigned areas to determine organizational needs, and act as a talent advisor and subject matter expert, providing direction and services designed to attract, source, recruit and hire exceptional employees.


  • Deliver professional and consultative talent acquisition services to hiring managers while promoting diversity and equity at all times.
  • Establish proactive sourcing strategies to attract passive candidates while promoting Northeastern University as a great place to work.
  • Support a proactive candidate care strategy by keeping candidates informed throughout the recruitment process.
  • Work directly with hiring managers to establish the best possible timelines and feedback on candidates to create a thoughtful protocol for the hiring process.
  • Assure that the candidates' introduction to Northeastern is seamless and that departments are prepared to welcome them and treat them well.
  • Proactively pipeline candidates for future needs and opportunities.
  • Contribute to special projects within the Talent Acquisition arena, such as community outreach, training, vendor vetting, website upkeep and ATS customization.


  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or professional certification(s) are preferred
  • Minimum of five years of professional level recruiting experience
  • Flexibility and adaptability, particularly as it relates to communication styles and organizational change management
  • Fluency in web-based recruiting tools and social media recruitment best practices
  • The ability to leverage applicant tracking system functionality in a way that streamlines processes and positively impacts candidate experience
  • Experience in a metrics-driven recruitment environment, and a fearlessness when it comes to analyzing data, developing reports and utilizing data to make informed decisions
  • Proven experience in providing quality candidates for mid to senior level positions with a focus on pipeline development and the sourcing of passive candidates
  • Deep acumen of Human Resources processes and systems, as well as legal compliance and employment law
  • Must be comfortable developing and delivering presentations on such topics as hiring best practices, networking, leveraging LinkedIn as both a candidate and recruiter
  • Excellent planning, time management, decision-making, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and drive results
  • Knowledge of the Boston area labor market is a plus, as is experience in higher education
  • Familiarity with PageUp People or Workday is desirable, but not required
