About the Opportunity:

The responsibilities of the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach include assisting the Head Coach with every aspect of a highly competitive NCAA Division I program. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for daily recruiting efforts including the evaluation of talent, coordination of depth charts, planning of trips for staff and PSAs, general correspondence and all things connected to identifying elite athletes. This position requires extensive travel for competition in season and for recruiting out of season, including numerous weekends and some holidays. Northeastern is hiring for 2 Assistant Coaches, one position is 12 months, and the other is 10 months.


The Assistant Coach position aids in all aspects of practice and match preparation including drill design and implementation, game day setup, as well as coordination with sports information, marketing and promotions. Other responsibilities include team travel planning, receipt reconciliation, equipment purchasing and oversight, video breakdown, fundraising activities, alumni outreach, preseason housing and meals, staff meetings, and other administrative duties as designated by the head coach. The successful candidate must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all University, CAA, and NCAA rules and regulations.


A Bachelor's degree is required. Candidates with coaching experience at the Division I level are preferable. Those with playing experience at the same level or internationally will also be favored. A thorough and demonstrable knowledge of recruiting practices and NCAA rules is critical. Excellent organizational, communicative, and time management skills as well as the ability to take on multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting are needed. The candidate must be willing to work nights, weekends and some holidays as well as be available for extensive travel.
