Lecturer - Math 132: Survey of Calculus (Fall 2025) San Marcos
The Department of Mathematics at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2025 to teach Math 132 Survey of Calculus. The course teaches basic calculus concepts with applications to business, economics, and the social sciences.  Differential calculus for algebraic, exponential and logarithmic functions; optimization, linearization, and other applications of derivatives; introduction to integral calculus.  Includes use of graphing calculators.

This course is designed to introduce the student majoring in science to the basic principles of Chemical Thermodynamics and Kinetics. The areas covered include: Basic laws of thermodynamics, chemical and physical equilibria, electrochemistry, transport processes, and theories and experimental determination of chemical reaction rates.

Covers major concepts in the physical sciences, emphasizing their application to real-world problems. Concepts include the interactions of matter and energy, laws of motion, atomic structure of matter, structure and properties of molecules and interactions of humans with the environment. Includes practical experience in the application of the scientific method through laboratory activities.
