The Senior Project Manager – Cyber is responsible for the delivery of projects within the University’s Cybersecurity Resilience Program (the Program), a multi-year initiative designed to materially reduce the University’s exposure to cyber security risk through the implementation of technology and business changes. The primary purpose of the Senior Project Manager - Cyber role is to facilitate the management and successful delivery of multiple projects, principally within the Program’s Governance and Risk Management stream. The role includes the leadership and coaching of other Program team members and includes significant engagement with senior stakeholders across the University whilst exercising substantial personal responsibility and autonomy to meet the given objectives and agreed scope of work of the varied set of projects.
Supported by Cyber Security Program Manager, project Cyber Security advisors, Organisational Change Managers, Business Partners, the CISO and Head of Cyber Security Governance, Risk and Strategy, you will be responsible for:
- Plan, lead and manage the following initiatives:
- identification of Cyber Security critical controls gap through gap assessments for information reserouces (applications/system).
- organisational wide Cyber Security critcal controls gap remediations for information reserouces (applications/system).
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables in consultation with the business and ICT stakeholders.
- Consistent and professional delivery of projects, exceeding stakeholder expectations through the application of stakeholder management principals and sound governance.
- Work with project and BAU Cyber Security leads, Organisational Change Mangers to develop and maintain the project plan, schedule, tasks and resource requirements against timelines.
- Contribute to uplift resource plans to scale up team to deliver to project commitments
- Manage and engage staff assigned and or contributing to the project to drive a strong customer centric culture and healthy engagement within the organisation.
- Review and monitor the performance and status of all assigned projects and address any concerns or issues that may impact on the successful delivery of the project to the business area.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential risks and/or issues and ensure security is appropriately addressed.
- Develop effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs.

- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health & safety of yourself or others.
Skills and experience:
- You have a background in Cyber Security Governance and Risk or Enterprise Risk and you are looking for an opportunity to deliver substantive change which will provide a significant contribution to the organisation’s Cyber Security Risk.
- Experience in the management or involvement asset inventory, policy rollout, gap assessment and risk remediation projects in the Cyber Security domain is highly desirable.
- Significant experience in managing multiple projects through the complete project lifecycle
- Strong leadership and effective people management skills, with experience in building effective / high performing teams along with developing and retaining staff.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Able to develop effective relationships and influence key stakeholders at all levels in the organisation.
- Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and problem solving with the ability to resolve and address issues as they arise.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience as an IT/Cyber Project Manager and/or an IT Solution Delivery Manager utilising a formal Project Management methodology, such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK and/or Agile.
- Experience in the University and/or Higher Education sector would be highly advantageous.
