About the role:
Aurizon’s Newcastle depot is currently seeking to appoint an experienced qualified Locomotive Driver. We are looking for competent operators who can provide operational support in accordance with safety procedures. The main responsibilities for the role are:
•Operate all forms of traction and trains competently and safely
•Apply best practice train management techniques competently to ensure efficient and safe train operations and re-accredit as required.
•Ensure quality customer service to meet business objectives
•Work in accordance with relevant Enterprise Agreements and other industrial agreements relevant to the position.
•Certificate in Locomotive Driving
•Valid C Class Driver Licence
•Strong commitment to safety
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Excellent verbal and written communications skills
•Able to produce clear, concise information
Successful external candidates will be subject to safety critical testing and a category one rail medical during the recruitment process, along with providing evidence of the units of competence successfully attained from the TLI 42615 Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Rail Operations)
