About the Opportunity
To support our Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Program, we are recruiting for experienced Engineers to represent ASC on an international assignment. The opportunity will be centred on ASC seconded staff being able to represent ASC and be embedded with international key suppliers to support the LOTE program. The responsibilities will involve executing significant work packages under the program and to support ASC’s Capability Development through the embedding (seconding) of ASC technical personnel to build experiences and skills. They will encourage cooperation with ASC in support of the Collins Class Sustainment CCSM Capability and ensure operations are conducted in an open and transparent way, enabling the subcontractor to produce results in accordance with contractual obligations.
As the role will include executing assigned tasks and analysis, the ideal candidate will have a broad range of engineering experience, a good working knowledge of the applicable Submarine’s systems and confidence in investigating and discussing issues outside of their discipline. Additionally, the candidate will have an awareness of Systems Engineering (including an awareness of V&V), Safety Assurance and Integrated Logistics Support functions. Secondees will utilise their excellent communication skills (both written and oral) to convey complex technical issues in a simple and effective manner sufficient to enable comprehension for those whom English is a second language.

About LOTE
The Life of Type Extension (LOTE) of the Collins Class submarine fleet will provide the nation with world-class submarine capability into the 2040s and beyond. The Collins Class are internationally regarded among the best conventional submarines in the world. ASC will continue to deliver its current level of world-class boat availability to the Royal Australian Navy throughout the implementation of the LOTE program.

Position Details
The seconded employees will:
- Be appointed as the Local Representatives of the corresponding LOTE Engineering delivery stream and will assist in coordination of technical activities in host countries
- Secondments will be available for multiple disciplines which may include Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Systems, Structural and with the potential for others opportunities as the LOTE program matures and additional scope is identified.
- Provide coordination and support for technical activities to ensure successful outcomes against the subcontracted objectives are achieved.
- The secondment positions come with the organisational (and cultural) challenge to operate effectively as part of the subcontractor’s team without losing connection to the ASC Team or compromising their identity as ASC employees.
- Coordinate communication on technical matters between the Subcontractor and the ASC Design Team
- Support the Subcontractor to achieve Quality and Compliance for the Technical deliverables and plan, organise, conduct and summarise the V&V activities as part of the Project scope
- Support the Subcontractors to mature and deliver the Integrated Logistic Support activities for the Project scope
- Contribute to the proactive management of technical risks on Project level including risk assessments and mitigation activities

- Hold a valid Passport for the duration of your secondment
- Ability to successfully provide a clean National Police Clearance with no outstanding or in-progress cases
