About the Opportunity
The Financial Accountant role supports the Manager Accounting Services in maintaining the integrity of accounting data and the management reporting cycle. Delivering value added services to stakeholders through accurate and timely reporting on financial and operational performance to support program delivery.
This Permanent full time opportunity is based in Osborne, SA.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation of group consolidated reporting and sensitivities.
- Analyse and understand general ledger and project costings throughout the year.
- Supporting the capital expenditure process, tracking and reporting of spend against budget.
- Be involved in identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives and the further development of systems and internal controls to increase efficiency.
- Management of Fixed and Leased Assets, including depreciation forecast reporting for assistance with annual budgets & disclosure.
- Accurate processing of journals to both projects and general ledgers.
- Analysis and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Accounting for payroll on a fortnightly basis and all payroll related monthly journals.
- Preparation and analysis of department and headcount reporting monthly and forecasting on a quarterly and yearly basis.
- Assistance and preparations of responses for annual true up audit process.
- Providing support to external auditors and preparation of required documents bi-annually.
Desirable competencies and experiences
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Experience with involvement in an organisation dealing with complex multi project environment and excellent financial analysis skills.
- Experience providing senior management with financial reports to support business decision-making.
- CPA/CA or equivalent membership.
- Robust knowledge of accounting standards.
- Experience in a financial accounting/corporate accounting /financial analysis role.
- Excellent conceptual thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Well-developed understanding and use of financial business information systems.

The successful candidate must provide ASC with a current National Police Clearance prior as well as be eligible for an Australian Defence Security Clearance, part of this eligibility requirement includes Australian Citizenship.
