About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Procurement Manager and supporting the wider Supply Chain team the purpose of the Senior Sourcing Specialist is to manage strategic procurement categories and activities. This position will develop, deliver or support business critical category strategies and related sourcing activities through proactive engagement with key business stakeholders and the external market to ensure value for money outcomes.
The role is responsible for leading engagement with strategic suppliers and undertaking contracting and procurement activity at all levels including defining strategic sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, coordinate contracting and procurement activities ensuring value for money and delivery on time while managing subcontractor risk.
This Permanent position is based from Henderson, WA.
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills along with a logical approach to problem solving. Your strong conceptual ability and well developed technical analysis skills will enable you to apply the appropriate tools, systems and methodologies to this role. Develop category strategies and sourcing plans that provide value for money, support on time delivery and manage ASCs risk
Implement strategic sourcing activities
Engage and negotiate with external market in sourcing and contract development process
Management of subcontracts to ensure contract compliance and performance
Knowledge sharing and coaching of team members
Governance and compliance with all Supply Chain, WHS policies and procedures and ASC’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Policy
Incremental improvement in ASC Procurement and Supply Chain function
Desirable competencies and experiences
Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or a related field
In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contracting principles and best practices
Strong negotiation skills for use in large and / or complex deals
Knowledge of enterprise risk management
Significant knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development
Strong commercial acumen
Strong skills in Microsoft Office products
Eligibility and Requirements
The successful candidate must provide ASC with a current National Police Clearance prior as well as be eligible for an Australian Defence Security Clearance, part of this eligibility requirement includes Australian Citizenship. Access protected US Defence Technology will be taken into account in assessing an applicant's suitability for this role.
