About the Opportunity:
A newly created role within the WHSE space, the WHSE Systems and Governance Advisor will be responsible for supporting the design and development of industry-leading WHSE frameworks, systems and processes to support delivery of the overall WHSE strategy.
The WHSE Systems and Governance Advisor will support the continuous improvement effort from a reporting, process and system perspective in accordance with the WHSE strategy. This role will also support with our System vendor relationships and design improvements to reduce information overlap in WHSE systems ensuring governance and compliance outcomes are met. Candidates will also be considered by their can-do attitude and their willingness and passion to learn WHSE and not necessarily their years of experience within the field.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as an advisor, coach and facilitator this role will support collaboration with the broader WHSE function
- Assist in building a WHSE coaching capability and capacity
- Reviewing WHSE workflows to ensure efficient and effective WHSE processes are aligned to strategic WHSE outcomes
- Support and contribute to a positive people culture that values continuous improvement and support design, development and review of systems, processes and procedures in line with the Company’s focus on ‘Lean’ thinking
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in workplace health and safety management, environmental science, engineering or equivalent and/or
- Up to 5 years of experience in a similar role or senior system role
- Desire to expand knowledge of WHSE
- Understanding of WHSE legislations and management systems
- Ability to problem solve and apply analytical thinking
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication
Desirable competencies and experiences
- Superior comprehension of Work Health and Safety and Environment Legislation and application of relevant standards
- Experience in data analysis, workflow design and governance frameworks
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly MS Project and MS Excel)
- Demonstrate strong ability to collaborate with a whole of team approach
- Demonstrate high level of integrity and resilience

Eligibility and Requirements
The successful candidate must provide ASC with a current National Police Clearance prior as well as be eligible for an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Access protected US Defence Technology will be taken into account in assessing an applicant's suitability for this role.
