Calling all qualified pipe and hull welders! A unique opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of the Collins Class fleet of Submarines to the Royal Australian Navy. Your industry skills can truly make a difference. This is a permanent ongoing role based in Henderson, WA.
About the role
The Pipe welder/ Hull welder role consists of all the major welding tasks conducted on board the Collins Class Submarines and in the workshops, throughout all the planned maintenance periods. Management and completion of work packs under the guidance of MTL and Leading hand.
This position has problem solving and challenges including the ability to accurately interpret complex work scopes and implement the task as outlined in the work pack and complete the work pack in accordance with CMS Process.
Conducting work on a submarine has several challenges like confined space, incompatible operations and difficult working positions all of which need careful attention to detail when conducting tasks, as a Welder on the submarines you will also be required to –
Complete and pass all ASC welding qualifications.
Follow all welding procedures and Test Instructions.
Trained in 228 process (Corrosion Removal on Hull).
Comply with ASC WHS Policies and Procedures.
