About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Breakdown Team Leader to manage our dedicated team of breakdown specialists in resolving unplanned machine events efficiently. As the leader, you'll play a pivotal role in minimizing machine downtime, ensuring high-quality repairs, and mentoring your team to success.
In this role, you will:
- Work a 14/7 Roster, 7 Days and 7 Nights, 12 hours shifts
- Lead & Manage the Breakdown Team: Supervise a team of breakdown specialists, ensuring the swift resolution of unplanned machine breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
- Resource Allocation & Delegation: Assess breakdowns and allocate resources effectively to ensure a prompt resolution while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Data Capture & Reporting: Oversee the accurate recording and analysis of breakdown events, capturing all critical data for future improvement and failure analysis.
- Procurement & Logistics: Manage the procurement of parts for repairs, ensuring timely availability of correct parts to avoid unnecessary delays.
- Mentoring & Training: Mentor team members, provide on-the-job training, and support them with troubleshooting, analysis, and repair strategies.
- Stakeholder Consultation: Liaise with management and key stakeholders to provide updates on breakdown status, progress, and resource needs, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
About you
- Trade qualification as Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or equivalent
- Previous Leading Hand experience in a maintenance or breakdown role.Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change outs and servicing of CAT and Hitachi Diggers, Dozers and Epiroc Drills
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and breakdown processes.
- JDE and INFOMINE experience is highly regarded for work order management and maintenance tracking.
- Ability to manage multiple breakdown events while maintaining clear communication and prioritization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to safety, ensuring all breakdown activities are performed with minimal risk.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to coordinate teams and liaise with multiple stakeholders.
