Job Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Director, the Development Coordinator provides strategic and intentional support for key fundraising projects and manages related information. Working closely with IA team members and campus partners, the incumbent assists and supports the advancement of fundraising efforts. The Development Coordinator manages a small portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects and is responsible for a wide-array of writing assignments, including, proposals and reports and fundraising support materials.

This position is represented for purposes of collective bargaining by SEIU.

 

Job Duties

  • 50% - Coordinates and implements administrative and operational functions of the OSI team, including but not limited to, reports, proposals, and other donor communications; mailings; maintaining digital filing system; answering and responding to external and internal inquiries via telephone and email; scheduling meetings and taking meeting notes; entering data; and documenting and updating policies and procedures. Maintains grant calendar and related tracking spreadsheets and systems in Salesforce. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Manages small portfolio of CFR prospects to ensure range of support for college programs. Conducts research on prospective Foundation donors. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Manages site visits for foundation relations prospects/donors, creating itineraries and briefings, coordinating with on vendors as needed. Responsible for submitting credit card reports, invoices, contracts, work orders for vendors and the Business Office Facilities and other internal campus partners. - (Essential)

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or other fields related to position responsibilities. Two years of development/fundraising administrative experience in a college or university setting. Experience using and maintaining a CRM system. Demonstrated skill with fundraising databases and evidence of an ability to master these resources. Ability to analyze, synthesize and organize data, and present findings in a comprehensible manner for different audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google drives/folders/forms, Adobe Acrobat, Web Editing, and social media applications or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Strong commitment to a quality work product. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically. Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies. Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion & diversity. Demonstrated skill in adapting to and performing work effectively in high-volume, high accountability, confidential environment with multiple and changing priorities. Effective organizational, logistical, time management and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, prioritize and fulfill the functions of an office in a timely manner. Ability to self-motivate and work independently. Ability to provide effective leadership and training, and to work effectively and professionally across functions, disciplines, levels, and with diverse groups.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using and maintaining Salesforce CRM system.

 

EXPECTED HIRING RANGE:  $25.00/hr - $28.00/hr

If you are offered this position at Occidental College, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and/or geographic location. In addition to those factors, Occidental complies with applicable pay equity laws and considers internal equity among current employees when developing the final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.  We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
