Louisiana Delta Community College seeks an instructor to teach students in the Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology program. The Diesel Technology Instructor will prepare individuals for employment in the field of diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair. The instructor will provide specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare individuals to engage in the service and maintenance of all types of diesel-powered equipment at the entry level. The instructor will prepare individuals to select, safely use, and maintain hand and power tools, jacks, and hoisting equipment. Other topics include the diagnostics of malfunctions and the repair of engines; fuel, electrical, cooling, HVAC systems, and brake systems; and drive train and suspension systems.

The RN Nursing Faculty is responsible for teaching professional nursing courses at the postsecondary level (but at less than the baccalaureate) to students who have graduated high school or earned a GED. Demonstrates and teaches patient care techniques in the simulation laboratory and clinical sites to nursing students. May be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, leading and moderating classroom discussions, facilitating online activities and communication. Responsible for performing student clinical evaluations. Expert in nursing practice with knowledge of professional scope and standards of practice. This position is grant funded by WIOA Title II – Adult Education Grant and administered through SOWELA Technical Community College. As a key member of the SOWELA WorkReady U Adult Education Program, the Adult Education (WorkReadyU) Instructor—Transition Coordinator is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Adult Secondary Education (ASE) to prepare eligible adult learners—including out-of-school youth age 16 and older for the high school equivalency test (GED or HiSET), postsecondary education, and workforce readiness. This position supports the mission of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II by integrating academic instruction with digital literacy, career pathways, and employability skills to promote learner success and self-sufficiency. In addition to instructional duties, the Transition Coordinator component of the role provides individualized transition planning, academic and career advising, and resource navigation to support students as they move from adult education into higher education, training programs, or employment. The position collaborates closely with faculty, workforce partners, and college departments to ensure seamless transitions and sustained student progress toward educational and career goals.
