Campus Director - Acadian SLCC – Crowley
This position reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (AVCSA) in fulfillment of the college’s mission. The purpose of this position is to play a transformational role in aligning academic offerings (credit, non-credit, and adult education), outreach and customer service delivery, enrollment, and community & external relations to the campus’ needs of the local community. The incumbent will serve as the face at the respective campus for administering, coordinating, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the college campus. Collaborative relationships with institutional constituents and the community are key to ensuring a quality student experience and delivery of educational services to all prospective students.
Counselor SOWELA – Main Campus
This position is responsible for the clinical operation of Counseling Services at the main campus and instructional sites including knowledge of student counseling techniques and an ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds. The counselor also provides support with Disability Services.
Adjunct Instructor - Process Technology SOWELA – Main Campus
The Process Technology instructor serves from within the School of Industrial Technology as a representative exhibiting positive and professional attributes of collegiate instruction in the eyes of faculty, staff, students and the local community. The primary role of each instructor at SOWELA Technical Community College is to teach in discipline areas in which the instructor has specific training and competence. As such, the instructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a manner that encourages collaborative teamwork and ethical values aligning with the school’s mission, vision and institutional values. Tutor SOWELA – Main Campus
Works with SOWELA students to help improve their technical skills. This person must be able to work and provide own transportation to and from the campus. This student will work as a team member to help students with critical learning skills. This position assists students in improving academic achievement, supports students by reviewing and clarifying learning problems, and provides useful study skills to students that need supplemental help. Additionally, peer tutors provide subject-area knowledge and serve as a model for students in the techniques, strategies, attitudes, and beliefs that successful learners employ as they acquire new knowledge, solve problems, and complete academic tasks. Other assistance might include reviewing class material, discussing text, reviewing test questions, generating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems.

Director of Grants Administration SLCC – Lafayette
The Director of Grants Administration provides leadership and direction to grant staff, college grant managers, and project teams in order to achieve successful project development, implementation, evaluation, and audit. This position is responsible for setting broad-level goals related to the annual grant development agenda and tasked with crafting the college’s long-range strategic plan for grants attainment and management. This position will manage grant seeking opportunities and monitor the progress of funded grant projects to ensure successful implementation of activities in accordance with grant contract terms and agency requirements, as well as ensure compliance with federal, state, and college policies and regulations. SLCC is looking for a Master's degree prepared Registered Nursing Instructor to provide instruction in both the classroom and clinical setting for nursing students.
CDL Instructor SOWELA – Main Campus
The CVO instructor will report to the Workforce Director of Operations. The CVO instructor provides classroom instruction and behind the wheel training in preparation for the Commercial Driver's License (Class A) examination. In addition to providing professional supervised training to new and existing drivers, this role is responsible for implementing safety and compliance measures according to Federal Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and procedures. The CVO Instructor provides classroom instruction in assigned classes and maintains office hours for student consultation. Classroom instruction includes preparing and reviewing lesson plans. It also includes the following: 1) developing and reviewing the program and syllabi, goals and objectives according to approved curriculum and course syllabi standards; 2) providing students with a written course syllabus; 3) recommending books and materials, and revising curricula; 4) evaluating and reviewing students' progress in attaining goals and objectives; 5) advising and counseling students and maintaining appropriate advisement records on each student; 6) participating in registration; 7) demonstrating and ensuring the use of appropriate and effective teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, 8) utilizing technology to facilitate learning and to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others; 9) effectively communicating using technology and oral or written communication skills; 10) effectively managing the classroom and supporting policies and procedures aimed at insuring appropriate student discipline; 11) meeting professional assignments in accordance with the college's calendar and contractual obligations; and 12) participating in the evaluation of the instructional process and using innovative strategies to continually improve learning.
System Supervisor/Security Administrator SOWELA – Main Campus
This position supervises respective desktop analyst(s) and student worker(s). The System Supervisor/Security Administrator’s role is to ensure the optimal and secure operation of all computer systems, servers, and network connections. This includes checking server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, backups, establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting. This person will also analyze and resolve systems and security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required. Server rooms and IDF/MDF rooms are to be kept clean, organized, labelled, and clutter free at all times. This position’s immediate supervisor is the Executive Director of Information Technology. The System Supervisor manages workload and approval of payroll for “Systems” technicians and student workers as assigned.
