Duties and Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Supervise, monitor, coordinate, and assess all Adult Education Program activities.
• Recruits, hire, supervise, train, coach, direct, coordinate, and monitor performance of instructional staff and support staff while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and termination personnel actions for positions supervised.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of annual program plans and budgets based on institutional, LCTCS, and other funding agency guidelines.
• Supervise the development of curricula and assessment systems to ensure that students acquire the skills and training to succeed in college or the workforce.
• Provide leadership in the development of department goals and objectives. Sets and supports program and staff performance goals.
• Manage Adult Education budgets, including institutional, federal, state, and local funding sources.
• Develop partnerships within the community for adult education services. Develops and implements agreements between LDCC and partner organizations.
• Develop institutional partnerships with credit and non-credit education programs. Works within the college to create guided pathways in context to ensure appropriate pathways from adult education programs into credit programs.
• Serve as fiscal agent responsible for federal and state adult education grants.
• Ensure program accountability.
• Implement and evaluate a targeted recruitment plan.
• Solicit grant opportunities funding to further goals and objectives of the Adult Education Department and its program partners. When grants are achieved, provides leadership to ensure the grants are fully functional and fiscally prudent.
• Prepare reports to fulfill college, state, and federal reporting requirements.
• Coordinate data collection and reporting for purposes of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance and accountability, and ensuring effective program review.
• Present program performance reports to LDCC and LCTCS.
• Adhere to and promote the LDCC's Standards of Practice
• Serves on regional and state adult education committees.
• Any other duties as assigned

Required Education: 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in administration, education, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience teaching adult education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers and representatives of State and local agencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree in administration, education, or a related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of administrative/management experience in adult education
• Demonstrated leadership ability and evidence of success in achieving measurable outcomes.

NOTE: This position is a grant funded position, and the continuation of the position is dependent upon funding availability. Continuation is based on the program meeting state and federal benchmarks.
