Duties and Responsibilities:
50% Admissions
• Review programs, admissions requirements, testing policies, scheduling, and student services with prospective students as first point of contact (email, phone and in person).
• Track and review all student applications.
• Assist students via email and courtesy calls throughout the enrollment and registration process.
• Obtain and request all required and supporting documents for admissions.
• Organize and ensure the maintenance of all student data/records in accordance with school policies, and third-party standards to meet IBC expectations. Outside governing bodies are VeriForce, Health Safety Institute, and United States Coast Guard (USCG).
• This position affects a high volume of data records and requires accuracy.
• Obtain pictures of students for third-party certification badges used in industry
• Prepare and present information on enrollment data.
• Interact with other departments to ensure student date is recorded accurately
• Testing—administer and score where applicable and determine testing required based on student’s
intended program.
• Inform students of SLCC testing policy and guidelines.
• Administer and proctor exams
• Review test score with students/instructors.
• Produce certifications and student completions cards.
• Complete and close out documentation for all classwork including mailings of documentation for third-party certifications.
• List IBCs for students who have completed training successfully on the IBC Spreadsheet.
30% Student Enrollment/General duties
• Administrative Support
• Greet incoming students/staff/guest by manning front desk
• Provide customer service by mailing, emailing, and discussing SLCC training opportunities.
• Answer and route incoming telephone calls related to Corporate College courses
• Forward messages received in campus call log (in person, phone, or voicemail).
• Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
• Assist and schedule potential students within highly specialized courses
• Provide campus faculty & staff with assistance, serving as administrative liaison between others administrative offices within and outside of the college such as department to department or Industry partner to person.
• Meet, greet, announce and/or assist all vendors and visitors giving tours as needed.
• Enter data into SalesForce, and spreadsheets for Banner
20% Support for Workforce Specialist/Program Manager(s)
• Provides support to Workforce Specialist: Filing of documentation, Data
Required Education: Associate Degree or 4 years of directly related work experience
Required Experience: 2 years of experience in an office setting handling administrative duties
Required Licenses or Certifications: An active, unencumbered driver's license.
Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree
Preferred Experience: Banner by Ellucian
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
