Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Work collaboratively with the Medical Assistant Instructor team to update and deliver curriculum
-Follow the course syllabus consistent with course descriptions and schedule
-Model professionalism, including appropriate language, presentation, and dress
-Evaluate students’ progress and track time and attendance
-Maintain student records for grading purposes
-Mentor students to help them achieve academic and on-the-job success
-Attend faculty open houses, staff meetings, advisory committee meetings and graduation ceremonies
-Secure student placement for clinical training, internships, and employment
-Help prepare students for interviews and job readiness
-Provide coverage as needed
-Implements evaluation for outcomes assessment and achieves established results while maintaining college standards of student satisfaction
-Works creatively in all classes taught to discourage student withdrawal and maintain satisfactory retention
-Begin and end each class at the designated times, providing a full period of instruction
-Leaves the classroom or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the next user
-Submits, at the designated time, final grades for all students on the class roster
-Accurately maintains attendance records in accordance with the Attendance Policy, submits class roster daily, maintains a separate record of attendance and grades that is clearly labeled and turned in at the end of the term
-Attends faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation and other college events as required by the College
-Dresses professionally in accordance with faculty dress code if onsite
-Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Required Education: Associate degree

Required Experience: 

-Unrestricted Louisiana licensure as LPN
-Minimum of five (5) years hospital/clinical experience, preferably in different specialties and/or practice settings
-Able to teach medical terminology and anatomy & physiology
-Able to demonstrate and teach students to perform phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs and aseptic technique
-Proficient using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
-Able to teach, medical insurance, HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
-Strong communication, organization and time management skills
-Respectful of diversity
-Ensure safety and sanitation in the classroom and lab

Required Licenses or Certifications: Active, unencumbered driver's license

Preferred Experience: Experience with Electronic Medical or Electronic Health Records a plus
