This position serves from within the School of Industrial Technology as a representative exhibiting positive and professional attributes of collegiate instruction in the eyes of faculty, staff, students and the local community. The primary role of each instructor at SOWELA Technical Community College is to teach in discipline areas in which the instructor has specific training and competence. Business Developer	SOWELA	Lake Charles, LA
This position promotes SOWELA Technical Community College to all interested stakeholders and provides training solutions to meet their needs. The goal of this position is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients, develop and maintain collaborative business partnerships with new clients through networking, cold calling, advertising, or other means to generate interest in the services provided by the Workforce Solutions division. Under direction of the Executive Director for Workforce Solutions, this position must plan persuasive marketing strategies that will convince potential clients to do business with the Workforce and SOWELA. The incumbent must build market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships. Strategic planning is a key part of this position and requires a thorough knowledge of the market, upcoming trends, and the solutions and services the division can provide.
Instructor - Practical Nursing (Lamar Salter)	SOWELA	Leesville, LA
This position teaches vocational or occupational subjects at the postsecondary level (but at less than the baccalaureate) to students who have graduated high school or earned a GED. Responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, leading and moderating classroom discussions, facilitating online activities and communication, and administering and grading examinations and assignments. Demonstrates and teaches patient care techniques in the classroom, simulation laboratory, and clinical sites to nursing students. Expert in nursing practice with knowledge of professional scope and standards of practice. Able to rely on evidence-based practice guidelines to plan and accomplish teaching goals. May lead and direct the work of others. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
