Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. Fulltime faculty members at KCAD teach 18 semester credit hours per academic year, typically 3 courses each fall and spring semester. As a KCAD faculty member, you will engage in three kinds of professional development: continuous improvement in teaching effectiveness, creative and/or scholarly contribution within your discipline, and a college service commitment that includes committee work and community engagement for the advancement of KCAD’s mission. You will actively advise students regarding their academic plan and progress as well as their co-curricular and post-graduation opportunities. The Photography Program challenges students to express ideas, investigate conditions, and communicate specifically and effectively with lens-based imagery. A course of study emphasizing the history, technique, production and critique of photography prepares graduates for a wide variety of opportunities in photography including the fine arts, advertising, commercial, documentary work, and graduate studies. Teaching assignments within the BFA Photography Program include a full range of technical, aesthetic, and theoretical subjects from beginning camera and darkroom usage, lighting and digital applications, to the senior thesis project. Teaching assignments may include courses outside of the Photography program. Courses are to be taught in person on KCAD’s campus in Grand Rapids, MI. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Required: MFA in Photography (or) MFA in Studio Art. Minimum of two years of university or college-level teaching experience beyond teaching assistantships. Evidence of ongoing scholarly and/or creative activity, such as a strong regional/national exhibition record and commitment to personal artistic practice.
Assistant Professor - Teacher Education	Big Rapids, MI 49307
The School of Education seeks applications for an Assistant Professor to teach foundational and methodological courses in elementary, secondary, and/or early childhood education. Duties will include attending department meetings, advising early childhood, elementary and secondary education students, and participating in accreditation process, etc. Teaching on-campus and off-campus courses, face-to-face, synchronous and asynchronous online courses will be based on department need. Courses are to be taught in person on Ferris State University's Main Campus. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The start date of this position is August 2025. Required: Ed. D. or Ph.D. in education or closely related field completed by Aug. 1, 2025. Minimum of 18 credits in elementary, secondary, or early childhood education at a master's level or higher. Teacher certification or ability to become certified. 3-5 years of experience teaching birth to grade 12. (Two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time.).
Adjunct Instructor 1 - Architecture and Facility Management	Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Architecture and Facility Management Department seeks applications for a part-time, temporary faculty position. Responsibilities involve teaching one or more courses in the following degree programs: AAS in Architectural Technology or BS in Architecture and Sustainability. In addition to the more common topics associated with the degree programs, experience in architectural design, construction detailing and documents utilizing AutoCAD and Revit, digital architectural presentation utilizing software such as Revit, Formit, Autodesk 3DS Max, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, will be considered. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Adjunct Instructor 1 - Health Information Technology	Multiple Locations
Provide online didactic instruction for students in the Associate of Applied Science of Health Information Technology program as assigned in the College of Health Professions. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is January of 2025 at the earliest and August 2025 at the latest. Required: Bachelor's degree in health information management. Minimum three years in a health information management department.

Primary responsibilities include teaching and advising students in a four-year BS Construction Management program (accredited by the American Council for Construction Education – ACCE) and in two separate two-year AAS programs – Building Construction Technology and Civil Engineering Technology. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2025 at the earliest and August 2025 at the latest. Required: Master's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, or Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field AND five years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial) OR Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field AND an MBA plus eight years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial) with increasing levels of responsibility OR Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field and eight years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial) with increasing levels of responsibility. A Master's degree in field or an approved related field will be required prior to tenure. Required work experience is based on degree attained. Higher level degree (PhD) in Construction Management or closely related degree requires five years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial). If a candidate has a PhD in a closely related field, but not actually Construction Management, the Master's degree must be in Construction Management and five years full-time commercial or industrial construction experience is required.
