Instructor/Assistant Professor of Illustration (Full-time term appointment, non-tenure track) Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. Fulltime faculty members at KCAD teach 18 semester credit hours per academic year, typically 3 courses each fall and spring semester. As a KCAD term appointment faculty member, you will engage in three kinds of professional development: continuous improvement in teaching effectiveness, creative and/or scholarly contribution within your discipline, and a college service commitment that includes committee work and community engagement for the advancement of KCAD’s mission. You will actively advise students regarding their academic plan and progress as well as their co-curricular and post-graduation opportunities. This is a full-time, term (temporary), non-tenure-track faculty appointment with the possibility of renewal. Courses are to be taught in person on KCAD’s campus in Grand Rapids. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The Illustration Program challenges students to express ideas, engage the narrative, and communicate specifically and effectively both traditionally and digitally. A course of study emphasizing the history, technique, production, and critique of illustration prepares graduates for a wide variety of opportunities in illustration including natural science illustration, children’s book illustration, comic book, editorial, and freelance work. Teaching assignments within the BFA Illustration Program include a full range of technical, aesthetic, and theoretical subjects from beginning to advanced level.

Provide expert financial aid counseling to students and parents, including appropriate information on aid eligibility, debt management, cost of attendance at Ferris State University and more. Maintain high level of expertise concerning the regulatory governance of institutional, state and federal financial aid programs, with an ability to convey complex financial aid concepts to a diverse constituent base that includes; students, parents and families, faculty and staff, executive leadership and more. Develop and manage policies and processes designed to ensure the effective distribution of financial resources, leveraging efficiencies that maximize utilization of funds and support student recruitment, retention and success. Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Two years of full-time office experience in financial aid, customer relations (e.g. banking, lending, or business) and/or counseling (e.g., financial or educational).
Reservation Specialist Big Rapids, MI 49307
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Life the David L. Eisler Center Reservation Specialist is the primary point of contact for all event reservations within the David L. Eisler Center. This position will coordinate venue reservations for meetings, events, and programs hosted by student organizations, university departments, and external groups, as well as handle the collection and processing of reservations revenue. Additionally, this position will be responsible for ensuring exemplary customer service, knowledgeable of all office operations, solution focused results, and oversight of student employees. The David L. Eisler Center Reservation Specialist is a fully in-person position. Required: Satisfactory completion of two years college or equivalent such as applicable military or business school training, or equivalent work experience. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered. Two years of full-time event planning, conference services, accounting, and/or office experience with supervisory responsibilities. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Personal Counseling Center Graduate Intern Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provide individual, couple, and group short-term mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach, education and campus programs for Ferris State University (FSU) students as part of a required graduate internship. Interns will be provided with compensation to assist with the costs of their internship at $13 per hour for up to 600 hours. Required: Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree and must currently be enrolled in a graduate level program (psychology, social work, professional counseling, or other related field). Applicants must be enrolled in their program's internship course throughout the duration of their internship.
