Foundation Specialist

| Serves as a key point of contact for the Foundation and Advancement Team, while providing administrative support for the Associate Vice President for Advancement/Executive Director of The Ferris Foundation, the Director of Leadership Giving/Associate Director of The Ferris Foundation, and philanthropy officers. Position requires a significant degree of decision-making and independent action. Interacts with tact and diplomacy with the campus community, vendors, donors, community members and other University constituents. Position reports to the Associate Vice President for Advancement/Executive Director of The Ferris Foundation. Required: Bachelor’s degree. Senior Laboratory Trainer

| Classroom and small group instruction for proper laboratory procedures with the Institute for Construction Education (ICET). Monitor written and practical certification examinations. This position is also responsible for developing changes to the laboratory curriculum. These are pooled, part-time positions. One or more applicants may be hired as needed on a semester-by-semester basis. The position will not exceed 28 hours per week. The anticipated start date of these positions is Fall 2026 (preferably August) and Spring 2027 (preferably January). Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Current certifications appropriate to program assignment, such as Michigan Certified Aggregate Technician, Michigan Certified Bituminous Laboratory Technician, Level 1 and/or Michigan Certified Density Technician. Five years experience working in the road construction industry related to quality control of highway construction materials. Two years experience in a classroom laboratory setting as a trainer/instructor/monitor. |
