Budget Analyst Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Budget Analyst assists in the preparation of the annual university general fund and non-general fund budgets; processes the detailed annual budget allocations to organizational units; monitors and forecasts student enrollment; maintains Institutional and State data reporting (HEIDI, MASU, etc); utilizes in-depth knowledge of budgeting and variance analysis to compile various analyses and reports; and performs other duties as required. This role requires knowledge of budgetary procedures and provides complex reporting, analytic and technical expertise for all phases of the annual budget process including: student enrollment, tuition revenue forecasting, operating expenses and fund transfers. Responsible for reporting required data to State and university offices. Utilizes general accounting knowledge and the ability to research information in the Banner ERP system. Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Administration, Accounting, or other business related field. Minimum three years of demonstrated budgetary work experience in a financial / accounting setting, or related field. Advanced Excel skills are required: experience using spreadsheets, advanced spreadsheet functions and the ability to logically organize complex databases. The Assistant Manager assists the Manager with day-to-day operations of the campus store, including the administration of the textbook and course material ordering program offered in partnership with the contracted online textbook partner. The Assistant Manager assists in the administration of operational policies, procedures and processes along with merchandise receiving, data entry, merchandising, and the stocking of products. This position assists with the training and supervision of student and part-time staff and is responsible for all store activities in the absence of the Campus Store Manager. Assistant Professor/Associate Professor - Primary Care Disease Emphasis - Michigan College of Optometry Big Rapids, MI 49307
Full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty position. The successful applicant will assume duties in patientcare and teaching in the clinic, classroom, and laboratories. The faculty member will be expected to develop in the areas of patient care, teaching/advising, scholarly/professional activities, and service. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising graduate professional students, participation in university and professional committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is December 2024 at the earliest and August 2025 at the latest. Required: At the time of appointment, the applicant must hold the Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and must either have completed an accredited optometric residency or have an equivalent degree or experience in patient care. At the time of appointment, the applicant must have or be eligible to obtain a Michigan optometry license with DPA and TPA certifications and be eligible for appointment to the clinical staff of the college. Associate Dean, College of Engineering Technology (CET) Big Rapids, MI 49307
Under the direction of the Dean, the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, is an administrative position with an anticipated start in the spring of 2025. However, this is an estimate and may be revised if needed. This position works under broad administrative direction with significant responsibility in operations, assessment, student recruitment, retention, and compliance. This is a 12-month administrative appointment that requires understanding of the programs within the CET, willingness to work closely with faculty, students, and staff across the departments of the CET, as well as with the college Deans and Provost's office, while paying attention to detail in meeting the needs of the CET related to accreditation, efficiency, program quality, enrollment, operations, and industry partnerships. The Associate Dean is expected to be strategic, process-oriented, flexible, willing to work closely with faculty, and committed to the career-focused mission of the CET. The Associate Dean will work integrally with the Dean to oversee course scheduling and enrollment management; provide oversight/coordination that includes, but is not limited to, working with faculty on curriculum development for new academic programs, including credit and non-credit certificate development; and work collaboratively with programs for assessment, accreditation, and academic program reviews.

One-year term appointment faculty members at KCAD teach 18 semester credit hours for the academic year: 3 courses each fall and spring semester. As a KCAD term appointment faculty member, you will engage in three kinds of professional development: continuous improvement in teaching effectiveness, creative and/or scholarly contribution within your discipline, and a college service commitment that includes committee work and community engagement for the advancement of KCAD’s mission. You will actively advise students regarding their academic plan and progress as well as their co-curricular and post-graduation opportunities. This is a full-time, one-year term (temporary), non-tenure-track faculty appointment with the possibility of renewal. Courses are to be taught in person on KCAD’s campus in Grand Rapids, MI. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The Art History Program serves students in all the art and design programs as well as Art History majors. We seek an outstanding educator who is an engaging speaker and can motivate and inspire students. Teaching assignments within the BA program include the first-year Art History survey (Global Art I and II), existing KCAD Art History courses, and other classes appropriate to the candidate’s areas of specialization and student needs. It is essential that the chosen candidate have the ability to teach some existing KCAD art history classes beyond the survey. This position is open to candidates specializing in any historical period or geographic area in art history; however, preference will be given to candidates who can teach non-Western art and architecture and/or global art and design. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing a new Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree, which is being submitted to the University community for consideration this fall. The successful applicant will hold a graduate degree in architecture or a closely related field and will have applicable work experience in architectural practice. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience. In addition to a background in practice, applicants should have a working knowledge of and commitment to sustainable design and sustainable systems.
