Assistant or Associate Professor of HVACR Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Department of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position. Primary responsibilities include; preparing and delivering courses, utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met, and delivering courses in both a classroom and an on-line format. Advising students, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the department, college and the university. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. Required: Master's Degree in a related discipline and three years full-time, relevant HVAC industry experience OR Bachelor's Degree in HVACR and five years full-time, relevant HVAC industry experience OR Bachelor's Degree or higher in a closely related field and eight years full-time, relevant HVAC industry experience OR Associate's Degree in HVACR and eight years full-time, HVAC industry experience. Grounds Worker Applicator Big Rapids, MI 49307
Perform independent maintenance and repair of campus grounds, roads, walks, plant life, irrigation systems and grounds equipment using approved environmental and ecological practices. Normal working hours are M-F, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. This position may require availability to work other shifts, weekends, and evenings, including overtime and responding to emergency calls. If required by job duties, employee must be able to fulfill University requirements concerning issuance and use of University keys. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Valid (current) State of Michigan Pesticide Application License Category (Core, 3A, 3B). Three years full-time equivalent landscape maintenance and landscape construction functions as performed in a residential and/or commercial setting. Commercial pesticide spray experience.
Human Resources Staff Training and Process Coordinator Big Rapids, MI 49307
Under the direction of the AVP/Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Staff Training and Process Coordinator is responsible for the creation and delivery of training and professional development programs and logistics for the non-faculty staff of the University. In addition, the position will work with the Senior HR Generalist to assist in the recruitment, job posting, and onboarding processes. The incumbent must display a commitment to providing superior service and value working with a diverse constituency. Develop, coordinate, and conduct training and professional development programs both in person and online for employees for all Ferris locations. Maintain training databases, develop & deliver training, and collect assessments for continuous improvement. Support the HR employment team to ensure the timely completion of all recruitment, job posting, and onboarding processes.
Secretary Level 2 Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provide reliable and professional administrative support to the Extended and International Operations dean's office in Big Rapids, MI. Responsibilities include; student interactions, receptionist duties, clerical tasks, and bookkeeping. This full-time, on-site position, operates in a professional office environment with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The anticipated start date for this position is June 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Satisfactory completion of two years college or equivalent technical training or business/technical schooling. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of college education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of work experience equals one year of education. Two years full-time secretarial work experience to include bookkeeping, supervisory responsibility, and public contact. Two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time.
Coordinator of Compliance and Student Success Big Rapids, MI 49307
To coordinate and provide oversight in the University's comprehensive NCAA compliance program. The position will oversee monitoring documentation of all compliance activities as required by NCAA, GLIAC, CCHA and Ferris State University for institutional control measures. The position shall be responsible for record keeping, rules interpretations, rules education and will serve as the primary interface with FSU's Associate Registrar on all NCAA eligibility concerns and its Athletic Financial Aid Officer. The Coordinator of Compliance and Student Success will oversee all areas of academic success including overseeing study tables, working with academic advisors on registration and advising the Student Athlete Advisory Council. Required: Bachelor's degree. One year working in an intercollegiate athletic department.
