| Position responsibilities will include teaching A.A.S. and B.S. courses in an ABET-accredited surveying engineering program. Courses may include topics such as GIS, photogrammetry, surveying principles and adjustments, legal aspects, engineering ethics, etc. Work with fellow faculty members in the advancement of the Surveying curriculum. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest. Required: Master’s degree in field or closely related field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught OR A master’s or higher-level degree out of field with at least one bachelor’s or associate’s degree in field and 7 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught OR A bachelor’s degree in field and 10 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught. Professional Surveyors License (current or expired but not revoked). |

| The Assistant Director of Housing Facilities oversees all maintenance, repairs, renovations, and key activities. Whereas university Facilities Management staff provides custodial and maintenance functions, this position will coordinate departmental needs related to housing facilities, specifically setting priorities, managing assets, and overseeing other facility-related activities. Required: Bachelor’s Degree. Five years of related work experience with two years specifically in facility management, work order management, or access control. |

Public Safety Officer

| The Public Safety Officer is a sworn law enforcement position which involves protecting life and property, and the preservation of peace and good order through the enforcement of laws, ordinances, and policy. Duties include responding to emergency and non-emergency police calls for service, responsibility for performing assigned police work of varying degree of difficulty, utilizing community-oriented/problem-solving techniques which include community engagement, resource development, the enforcement of laws and ordinances, crime prevention, detection and investigation, apprehension of violators, and other related police functions. Required: High School Diploma or GED. Applicants must be MCOLES certified or licensable as a police officer as defined by MCOLES at the date of hire. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license. |

Assistant General Counsel

| Under general direction from the General Counsel or his/her designee, advise and represent the University in various legal matters. Confer with and advise University officials on a wide variety of legal matters/topics, constitutional law, general business and contractual matters, including issues relating to public corporations, government regulatory compliance, and employment law. Interpret, revise, and draft policies of the University, including Board of Trustee policies. Collaborate with University officials regarding effective use and implementation of policies.
Conduct legal research and prepare policies, resolutions, memorandums of law, and legal opinions. Draft, review, and administer contracts. Represent the University in legal proceedings. Conduct University litigation and claims and their defense. Monitor the adoption of significant legislation, the issuance of significant court or administrative rules, regulations, guidelines, or interpretations affecting the University, and advise appropriate University officials of the same. Monitor and coordinate litigation assigned to external counsel. Assist in formulating and implementing institutional strategies for preventing legal problems. Provide legal training for University administration through systems, programs, etc. Collect and tabulate data from a variety of sources, including the collection of documents/data for responses to subpoenas, Freedom of Information Act requests and requests for legal assistance through interviews or written correspondence .Required: J.D./L.L.B. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Two or more years of experience as an attorney. Membership in the State Bar of Michigan or eligibility to gain admission into the State Bar of Michigan within a short time after hire. |

Adjunct Instructor - School of Education

| The School of Education seeks candidates to teach on a semester-by-semester, as needed basis, in the areas of elementary and secondary education. The instructor is expected to use high-quality instructional strategies, integrate theory and practice, and support student success in coursework and clinical experiences. Candidates must be available to teach in person (main or other campuses) or synchronously online during the hours of 9 am- 5 pm, with occasional evening courses. This is a pooled position. One or more candidates may be hired as needed to teach courses on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start dates for these positions are August 2026 or January 2027. Required: Master's degree in Education or closely related field. Possess or be eligible for MI teaching certification.
