Job Summary: This position is responsible for the end-to-end hiring process at the College. This includes sourcing, screening, testing, assisting with interviewing, conducting background checks, executing employment offers and onboarding qualified candidates. Under the oversight of the HR director talent acquisition, serves as a consultant to hiring managers in developing an effective and comprehensive strategy to attract and retain high-performing and diverse talent. Provides support, direction and training related to internal and external policies and procedures governing hiring practices to individuals participating in the hiring process. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years experience.*Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Such as those listed above.

Preferred Qualifications: Customer Service, Time Management

Job Specific Task List:

  • Leads in the development of creative sourcing and recruitment strategies for assigned positions; advises hiring managers on best options for seeking out qualified candidates; sources, develops and maintains a pool of qualified candidates in anticipation of the business needs
  • Assists the director talent acquisition in gathering and analyzing recruitment and onboarding related data such as: labor market trends, job reports, applicant and hiring statistics, etc. to provide qualitative and quantitative information on equity, sourcing, time-to-fill and onboarding feedback; utilizes the data to develop creative strategies for sourcing, recruiting and onboarding
  • Develops relationships within assigned departments to gain a thorough understanding of job requirements, qualities and skills needed of the positions within each unit to successfully attract talent; adapts appropriate recruitment strategies depending on the job market and available talent pool and stays up-to-date with current trends and best practices in talent acquisition for higher education
  • Assists hiring managers in facilitating a positive onboarding experience for new hires; ensures new hires complete all appropriate onboarding documentation; oversees new hire set-up in the human resources information system (HRIS) to enable smooth transition to employee status; builds relationship with new hires through periodic check-ins and surveys; conducts regular follow-ups with hiring managers to determine effectiveness of recruitment strategies and onboarding practices
  • Provides professional guidance and advice to hiring managers, hiring teams and search committees regarding internal and external policies and procedures governing hiring practices; ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws governing employment, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and other applicable policies and regulations, including HACC's equity standards
  • Monitors and updates job requisitions in the applicant tracking system (ATS); ensures that assigned jobs and applicants' work-flow statuses are updated. Performs data clean-up activities within the ATS; provides training to hiring managers and hiring teams in the use of the ATS; answers internal and external user questions related to the ATS ; maintains electronic job files in accordance with the College's records retention program
  • Prepares and updates recruitment and interviewing training materials, FAQs, and other resources for internal and external customers; maintains the HR recruitment and onboarding intra- and inter-net pages with relevant documents and links; provides timely face-to-face or on-line training to new hires, supervisors, search committees, hiring teams and others on a variety topics concerning hiring, screening candidates, interviewing skills, unconscious bias, etc.
  • Builds relationships with community partners to promote careers at HACC; attracts applicants by placing job ads in targeted locations, social media, newsgroups, affiliations, and others; sources passive candidates through referrals and other creative methods; attends in person and on-line job fairs, as applicable
