About the Role:

Aurizon is looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanic to join our Port Services Maintenance team at Berth 29 in Port Adelaide. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Aurizon’s mobile plant assets, ensuring their safety, reliability, and efficiency. You will work within a structured maintenance program, responding to planned and unplanned maintenance while upholding Aurizon’s commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance on port mobile plant and infrastructure
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults and breakdowns
  • Conducting and adhering to risk assessments and WH&S procedures
  • Scoping maintenance work and working with planners to prioritise tasks
  • Being available on-call for urgent breakdowns as required
  • Inputting and maintaining accurate data in asset management systems
  • Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes and asset reliability

About you: 

We are seeking individuals who have:

  • Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent (Mandatory)
  • Mechanical Trade Experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in heavy diesel serving, mechanical maintenance and fault diagnostics
  • Ability to obtain Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Demonstrated computer and software skills (SAP experience highly regarded).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with WH&S standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with planners and supervisors
  • C Class driver’s licence (unrestricted or provisional)
